Why we created Coloring Book Cafe
Hello & Welcome
I’m Kasia and I’ve worked as a Registered Nurse in the field of psychiatry for many years. I worked with very ill people who needed to be hospitalized in order to get better because they couldn’t function in their day-to-day life.
Part of my job was facilitating groups where I would teach people new coping strategies and healthy ways of dealing with stress and anxiety. With the coloring craze at its height, I introduced adult coloring last year as an activity that I’d hoped would help people relax and escape from everyday problems.
What I witnessed firsthand was just incredible. People started to feel calmer, more relaxed and more focused! I knew was onto something. Over the next several weeks I facilitated a relaxation group and saw with my own eyes the transformation that was taking place. We now know all about the incredible benefits coloring has to offer including reducing anxiety, creating focus and bringing about more mindfulness!
The only problem I ran into was finding top quality illustrations for a decent price. Searching for great pictures on the web was very time consuming and visiting the local bookstore every week was too costly. I wanted to have instant access to amazing illustrations in a neat place where I didn’t have to worry about finding new material.
This was the inspiration behind Coloring Book Cafe.

The Coloring Book Café was born out of my love for coloring and because I witnessed first hand how beneficial it can really be. Now I hope to inspire others to pick their coloring pencils and join me on this fun filled journey where the possibilities are endless. And yes, I confess, I too am into adult coloring. Worse still, I love it. And I can honestly say that adult coloring is dangerous. Really, this is addictive stuff!
So on behalf of me and my team, welcome to Coloring Book Café!

Our Artists
Roma
Roma Gavrila is a freelance illustrator from Romania, living and working in Transylvania, in Cluj-Napoca, a town that is a mix of history and youthful energy. Her projects include editorial illustration (mainly dealing with social issues), children's book illustrations, comics and textile patterns, as well as illustrations for coloring books.
Whenever I can, I sneak into my illustrations friends, their pets, or some of my potted plants.
Working on the coloring books, I really enjoy getting lost in all the little lines and details, coming up with cozy scenes or drawing lush plants."

Alvaro
Alvaro Madero was born and lives in Mexico. He is a plastic artist who has migrated from engraving and painting to pursue digital illustration for books and magazines. Since 2007 he works as a freelance illustrator for the textile and publishing industry. He's now one of our featured coloring book artists.
Inspired by nature, traditions, and fantasy his work has been exhibited and marketed in various countries around the world.
